Beautiful Bridesmaid Buns...

Last year following their engagement, I was asked last year to be bridesmaid for one of my best friends Jessica and in the next few months we are to have our first hair trial for the big day. Jess has kindly given us the chance to choose what style we would like, all that she has requested is that we have our hair up in some form of bun to show off the beautiful shoulder detail on the dresses. I have recently had my hair cut a lot shorter to cope with my treatment and naturally I cant give too much away in case the groom should read my blog (Hi Tom) but I can show you some of the ideas I have have found on my Pinterest...

Vintage Fiat...

I love my little Fiat 500 and I wasn't aware that like the Mini and the VW Beetle, the Fiat 500 also has a stylish little predecessor dating back to the 50s.I must admit, I'm beginning to wonder if I made the right choice and if one day I might have to go vintage...

Finishing touches...

SO we've finally moved into our new house, all our hard work has paid off, the last few weeks have been pretty manic as we counted down the last days to moving day...heres some snaps of the last few weeks as it all began to come together...

Keep It in the Family...

I am one of five girls, I have two older and two younger sisters who all keep me equally well-entertained, loved and protected; we all have our similarities, things we love, things we hate and goals we want to achieve in the future, we all share a very hardworking nature and love nothing more that a good time together.

As sisters we all share one main thing in common, our Dad, each of our relationships with him have brought us all closer together, along with the mutual love for a dance (some better than others) a strong drink and good quality family time, something that I think makes us all very lucky.

Now, while I feel an emotionally charged reel of family photos coming on, that will have to wait until later, following our latest house renovation which has just been finished by Dad he is now about to embark on another project (this man really doesn't stop.) My eldest sister Jessica is about to put him through his paces as they start to rebuild and extend their lovely house is Bristol. Jess has also kindly asked me to help her re-design the new downstairs interior, which is very exciting to be involved in now my own house is finished, its great to keep my love for interiors flowing.

I'm sure Jess will let me post some of the building work soon, but for the meantime here's some inspirational imagery showing design ideas for the project. I am heading over to see Dad in a few hours to have a nose at the work that he's begun, although I suspect at this stage its looking more like mud and foundations rather than fixtures and fittings.

Time to get painting...

Although at times it hasn't quite felt like it, we are getting very close to finishing our house, the brown plastered walls have been splashed with white, totally transforming the gloomy space, the spiral staircase is in, bathroom is taking shape and the kitchen is looking great, it wont be long before I'm inviting you round for moving in drinks...I think I'm going to need a few after all this!

Watergate Bay...

Having seen friends' photos I was intrigued to see if Watergate Bay really was as delightful as it seemed! So last weekend we downed-tools and headed to cornwall to see for ourselves! Before arriving, we called en-route to Padstow to visit Rick Stein's cafe for lunch, it also meant that once we arrived at the hotel we could just stay in the Bay and soak up all that it had to offer, which is exactly what we did.

Our lovely little break away looked something like this...

Under reconstruction pt II...

Our cottage is almost finished and my reason for the lack of posts can be seen below, we have been very busy, working late most weekends doing all we can to get the cottage to look the way it should. Since my previous post the interior has been completely re-plastered throughout, making good the crumbling walls and repairing a multitude of problems including damp, holes in the floorboards and awful wood chip wallpaper- which wont be missed. The electrics and plumbing have been installed and we are starting to look at fixtures and fittings.

Needless to say its been a challenge, but one that will be well worth it come the end...here's what we've done in the meantime.
